Eversholt Hall - A Wedding Photographer's Perspective

When I was invited to second shoot a wedding at Eversholt Hall, I was thrilled—it was my first time photographing a wedding there! Despite spending a lot of time in Eversholt, I hadn’t realized this quiet village even had a wedding venue. Nestled in the Bedfordshire countryside, not far from Woburn, Eversholt Hall sits right at the heart of the village, overlooking a classic English cricket green.

Walking into the main hall, I was struck by its character—exposed brickwork, rustic beams, and a mezzanine with a balcony. The space is simple, without the usual grand décor or artwork you often find in wedding venues, but that simplicity is what makes it special. It’s a beautiful blank canvas that can be tailored to suit any aesthetic. It’s a space that can comfortably hold up to 125 seated guests, with additional guests allowed in the evening!

I was lucky to be working alongside a fantastic photographer who knew all the best photo spots. With my own knowledge of Eversholt, I now have plenty of location ideas for any aesthetic. Mr. and Mrs. X chose to decorate the space with fairy lights and flower boards, creating a soft, inviting atmosphere. Since then, I’ve seen other couples use paper lanterns, which add a splash of colour to the barn’s neutral tones. One thing that seems to be a constant at every Eversholt Hall wedding is the light-up LOVE letters on the balcony. They add a nice touch to the ceremony, first dance, and evening party, and make for a fantastic backdrop to your photos.

One question I often get about Eversholt Hall is whether a second photographer is really necessary. It’s a relatively small venue, so one photographer might seem like enough. But the hall’s terrace opens up the opportunity for some unique overhead shots. While I’m capturing the main moments from the front, my second shooter can get those special angles from above, giving a fuller picture of your day.

Eversholt Hall isn’t just a venue; it’s a place where couples can bring their vision to life. The team here is great at helping couples personalize their day, and they have a network of suppliers who can bring any idea to reality. Whether you’re planning something classic or a bit more modern, Eversholt Hall provides a space that you can truly make your own.
